Event Description:
Born in Denver, raised in San Diego, and now living in Western Nebraska with his wife and son, Poe Ballantine is the author of six books, including the cult-classic Things I Like About America, and the memoir, Love and Terror on the Howling Plains of Nowhere, which was made into a full-length documentary.  His work has appeared in The Best American Essays and The Best American Short Stories and in several issues of The Sun. He is also the recipient of a Pushcart Prize. His madhouse-horseracing novel, Whirlaway, will be out with Hawthorne Books in April of 2018.
