7:00 PM - 8:00 PM | Visiting Writers Series - Poe Ballantine Born in Denver, raised in San Diego, and now living in Western Nebraska with his wife and son, Poe Ballantine is the author of six books, including the cult-classic Things I Like About America, and the memoir, Love and Terror on the Howling Plains of Nowhere, which was made into a full-length documentary. His work has appeared in The Best American Essays and The Best American Short Stories and in several issues of The Sun. He is also the recipient of a Pushcart Prize. His madhouse-horseracing novel, Whirlaway, will be out with Hawthorne Books in April of 2018. |
